FIRST STAGE OF FOUNDATION TRUST ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED

Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Trust is pleased to announce the results of the nomination stage of elections to its Council of Governors. Elections are being held in preparation for the formal establishment of the organisation as an NHS Foundation Trust which, subject to the approval of Monitor, the Independent Regulator, is scheduled to happen sometime between April and July 2006.

The deadline for submitting election nominations was 9 February 2006. Elections will now be held in the following constituencies:

PUBLIC: COTSWOLD DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA (2 TO ELECT)

The candidates standing for election are:
Patricia Ayres
Keith Blundell
Graham Jones
Heather Masek
David Soutter

PUBLIC: GLOUCESTER CITY COUNCIL AREA (3 TO ELECT)

The candidates standing for election are:
Anthony Birt
Jason Bloodworth
Carol Dass
Jonathan Christopher Trigg

PUBLIC: STROUD DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA (3 TO ELECT)

The candidates standing for election are:
Keith Ardron
Barbara Boddington
John Gillett
Janet Newbould
Linda Townley

STAFF: ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL AND SOCIAL WORK

The candidates standing for election are
Bronwen Carless
David Pugh

Ballot papers will be issued on Thursday 2 March 2006 to those members whose constituency is the subject of an election. The closing date for return of ballot papers to Electoral Reform Services is Tuesday 21 March 2006. Electoral Reform Services will provide the Trust with the results of the election on the 22 March 2006.

The following constituencies were uncontested:

• Public: Cheltenham Borough Council area – Amanda Fisk and Anne Regan were elected unopposed.
• Public: Forest of Dean District Council area – Angela Lewis was elected unopposed.
• Public: Tewkesbury Borough Council area – Francesca Tolond was elected unopposed.
• Staff: Medical – Dr Chandni Mehta was elected unopposed.
• Staff: Nurses – Mervyn Dawe, Stephen Skinner and Anthony Warne were elected unopposed.
• Staff: Support Staff – Tim Stokes was elected unopposed.
• Staff: Management, Administrative and other staff – Richard Butt-Evans and Judith Morris were elected unopposed.

A further four members will be nominated from the County Council; the District, Borough and City councils; the Learning Disability Partnership Board and the Primary Care Trusts.
